Getting to Aspen

Traveling by Car

For those who prefer a scenic drive, traveling to Aspen by car offers a chance to witness the breathtaking landscapes of Colorado. From Denver, it's about a 3.5-hour drive via the I-70 W and CO-82 E. Be prepared for some winding roads, especially as you approach Independence Pass, which is only open seasonally from late May to early October. This route provides you with unparalleled views and plenty of opportunities for photo stops. Alternatively, you can take the slightly longer but less mountainous route via the I-70 W and CO-91 S, which adds about 30 minutes to your travel time.

Before setting off on your road trip, be sure to check road conditions, closures, and weather forecasts, as mountain roads can be unpredictable. During winter months, it's essential to have a vehicle with 4-wheel drive or snow chains to ensure a safe journey.

Traveling by Plane

If you prefer a quicker option, flying is an excellent choice. Aspen is serviced by the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE), which is located just 3 miles from downtown Aspen. Numerous airlines offer direct flights to Aspen from cities like Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Dallas. During the peak ski season, additional flights may be available, so be sure to check with your preferred airline for the most up-to-date schedules.

Upon landing in Aspen, you can easily rent a car, book a shuttle, or arrange for private transportation to get to your accommodations. If you're staying in Aspen proper, many hotels offer complimentary shuttle services, making it even more convenient to start your girls' trip as soon as you touch down.

Regardless of whether you choose to travel by car or plane, the journey to Aspen is sure to be filled with excitement and anticipation.
